Groove baseado Southern Rock com uma pitada de AOR para a boa medida, é o que prevê Point Blank. O guitarrista e principal homem Rusty Burns era uma vez um técnico de guitarra para ZZ Top, e gerente do último Bill Ham também descobriu o potencial de Point Blank. A banda lançou seis álbuns entre 1976 e '82, "Nicole" (1981), tornando-se seu maior hit. Point Blank dissolvido, em grande parte devido a disputas legais, mas retornou à cena em 2005. Em 2009, eles lançaram seu primeiro álbum de estúdio em vinte e sete anos, "Fight On!". Em 1981, a Point Blank lançou seu quarto álbum, "American Exce $ $", que incluía a canção Nicole. Com forte ar-play nas rádios a faixa AOR atingiu # 20 na Billboard Magazine's Rock Tracks.
