Em 1972, depois de Woodstock catapultou Ten Years After no arenas rock, Alvin Lee decidiu tomar o caminho da liberdade e não o caminho para a fama e fortuna. Em 1973, gravou seu primeiro trabalho solo, "On The Road To Freedom", com Mylon Lefevre. Foi uma mudança importante no trabalho de Alvin com TYA como que não era apenas um duro impulsionado álbum de rock / blues, mas uma coleção de canções introspectivas com violões e melodias fortes. Alvin nunca olhou para trás como TYA se separou em 1974.
Uma verdadeira obra-prima de um álbum, "Still On The Road To Freedom" será um favorito dos fãs que certamente nós pode se espalhar para as massas. Como diz Alvin, ele prefere deixar a música tocar e falar por si.

| Ten Years After guitarist Lee teamed up with gospel crooner LeFevre for a session that could be best described as hard spiritual rock. The 1973 album features guest shots from George Harrison, Stevie Winwood, Ronnie Wood, and Jim Capaldi, among others. Alvin Lee known for his lightning fast licks on guitar, soulful bluesy tunes and amazing live performances throws us a curve ball with his first solo album. Much more mellow and melodic than his work with Ten Years After, but with great feeling and depth. He shares the vocalist duties with American gospel singer Mylon LeFevre and Mylon also belts out some very nice songs of his own. |
