The Moody Blues são uma banda originária de Inglês Erdington na cidade de Birmingham. Os membros fundadores Michael Pinder e Ray Thomas realizado inicialmente um ritmo e blues com base sólida em 1964, juntamente com Graeme Edge e outros, e que se juntaram posteriormente por John Lodge e Justin Hayward como eles evoluíram e inspirado no estilo rock progressivo. The Essential Moody Blues "Time traveller"  é um box-set essencial 4 plus, bonus  CDs ao vivo.
Após a abertura com alguns primeiros singles e raridades, todos os álbuns de "Day’s of future passed" para a direita através de "Keys to the kingdom" estão bem representados. Também é abordada Hayward e Lodge perdeu álbum Moody Blues "Bluejays".
Para os seis álbuns magníficos em "In Search of the Lost chord" to "Seventh Sojourn" ,  há 25 a 30 minutos de música de cada, representativas de até 75% dos álbuns originais. "Bluejays" também é oferecida uma quantidade similar de espaço, o que significa que apenas um par de faixas estão em falta. É inteiramente certo que a maior ênfase é colocada sobre esses álbuns, pois representam a era de ouro da banda.  Para os restantes álbuns, incluindo "Days of Future Passed", a atribuição é de 12 a 15 minutos cada. A pista são apresentados na ordem em que apareceu nos álbuns, mantendo assim grande parte da continuidade que elas continham. "Time traveller"portanto, serve para reunir-se em praticamente todo o trabalho melhor Moody Blues em um pacote perfeito. Sim, haverá a faixa estranho que as pessoas vão questionar a ausência, mas os CDs a fundir-se. Solo de Justin Hayward outing "Forever Autumn" também está incluído, mas é a única versão mal editado. O "Blue Guitar" single (por vezes creditado Justin Hayward, às vezes, Hayward e Lodge, e às vezes com "O Bluejays") é, também aqui, junto com um par adicional de mais recente non-album tracks.
