Stephen Peter Marriott (30 de janeiro de 1947 - 20 de Abril de 1991), popularmente conhecido como Steve Marriott, foi um Inglês cantor e compositor, guitarrista e músico. Ele é mais lembrado por sua voz poderosa que desmentia sua pequena estatura e por sua guitarra agressiva jogando nos grupos de rock The Small Faces (1965-1969) e Humble Pie (1969-1975 e 1980-1981). Na Grã-Bretanha, a Marriott se tornou um popular, ícone do estilo mod freqüentemente fotografada por seu papel como vocalista e guitarrista do Small Faces em meados dos anos sessenta. Marriott foi influenciado desde cedo por seus heróis, incluindo Buddy Holly, Booker T & the MG's, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Muddy Waters e Bobby Bland. Os dois CD, 31 faixa "Hot n 'Nasty" Anthology encobre seus primeiros 9 álbuns 1969-1975 que é o melhor material e não só por isso vai um pouco além do que precisa, mas tudo aqui é grande. Outro recurso interessante é que a música é cronológica que começa com "Natural Born Woman" de seu debut de 1969 "No Safe As Yesterday Is" e fechando com músicas do 1975 "Street Rats" LP como "Rain", a Lennon / McCartney original. Depois de 1971 do "Rock On", Frampton deixou o grupo para seguir carreira solo e eles recrutaram o guitarrista Clem Clemson para liberar o que acabou sendo o seu quadro de maior sucesso topping LP, "Smokin" (1972). Tal como acontece com todas as compilações, há geralmente um ou alguns favoritos dos fãs álbum notável falta faixas como "Eu não posso suportar a chuva", "Roadrunner", e "Sour Grain", mas que realmente é nit-picking no presente caso. Mesmo die hard fãs não podem argumentar que "Hot N Nasty" inclui os melhores materiais em geral e é o mais forte da coleção, mais consistente em seu catálogo. Existem outras compilações Humble Pie em formato de disco único, como "The Best of" e "Classics Vol. 14." Mas ambos são pequenos ("Best of" tem 9 faixas!) E vir nenhum onde perto de fazer a declaração de "Hot N Nasty "não. Conclusão: Se você quer ter uma coleção definitiva dos Humble Pie, este é ele.
