O calendário dos grandes shows internacionais de rock não acaba com o AC/DC, no dia 27 de novembro. O trio americano ZZ Top vem ao Brasil em dezembro.
O grupo toca em São Paulo e no Rio, entre os dias 10 e 13, em locais a definir. É a primeira vez que a banda se apresenta no país.
O ZZ Top surgiu em 1970, no Texas, mas se tornou popular a partir de 1983, com o álbum Eliminator. Nessa época, a imagem do grupo de barbudões passou a ser fortemente associada a carrões e mulheres.
A trupe gravou hits como "Gimme All Your Lovin", "Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs" e "Rough Boy". Na fase inicial, Billy Gibbons (guitarra e vocais), Dusty Hill (baixo) e Frank Beard (bateria) já haviam criado os sucessos "La Grange", 1973, e "Tush", de 1975.
A formação é a mesma desde o início. Apesar do bom currículo, o ZZ Top não lança um disco de inéditas há seis anos.

Quem são os ZZ Top
A banda ZZ Top surgiu em 1970, no Texas, mas se tornou popular a partir de 1983, com o álbum Eliminator. Os membros do grupo são Billy Gibbons (vocal e guitarra), Dusty Hill (vocal e baixo) e Frank Beard (bateria). A formação é a mesma desde o início, e a seis anos não lançam nenhum disco de inéditas. Com um som de guitarra distinto e letras satíricas (muitas delas a respeito de lugares e eventos de sua terra natal, o Texas) a banda provavelmente se destaca pelo seu visual diferente. Gibbons e Hill sempre são fotografados com óculos escuros, utilizando sobre-tudo e barbas gigantescas, o que torna esta combinação sua marca registrada. Frank Beard (Beard significa barba, em inglês), ironicamente não tem barba.

Curiosidades

Em 1984, a empresa Gillette ofereceu a Gibbons e Hill 1 milhão de dólares, para que eles aparecessem sem barbas em um comercial mas eles recusaram. Na época de George W. Bush como governador do estado do Texas, criou o dia do ZZ Top.

This is the speed-corrected version of an earlier seed which ran too slow. The speed was increased using Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 4.5's Pitch effect. This was increased by 80.0 Cents on each track. The resulting pitch is that of the original tuning used on the Deguello LP. This was done cross referencing the first track of each recording which turns out to be, "I Thank You".In addition, this seed has had the previously present TAO silence removed from each track.Real nice soundboard of a fantastic "Deguello" Tour stop on the outskirts of Detroit! It's got that lowdown old ZZ sound. A high point of this show is the song "We're Barefootin'", the only known performance of the song. There's the "Crosses Sermon", from none other than Rev. Willie G. and one helluva La Grange Medley too! Great vibe and the crowd is insane. Ahhhh, the good 'ol days.

"That Little Ol' Band From Texas" serves up a heaping portion of hell-raisin' hits and raucous rarities. With four CDs spanning 14 albums released on Tantara, London, and Warner Bros. between 1968 and 1992, this son-of-a-gun's got a huge number of hits -- along with choice album cuts, remixes, live tracks, and other rarities. A beefy 80-page booklet features liner notes, rare archival photos, and a revealing track-by-track bull session with the band.
In 1970, Billy Gibbons of The Moving Sidewalks joined forces with Dusty Hill and Frank Beard of rival Houston band American Blues, and ZZ Top were born. After two albums of playful, straight-ahead blues-rock, they unleashed a potent sound of their own with 1973's Tres Hombres and its heavy-riffing hit "La Grange." After three more albums and a brief hiatus, they turned in 1979's Deguello, which packed sleek grooves into wise-ass classics like "Cheap Sunglasses" and "A Fool For Your Stockings."
In the '80s ZZ Top's hot rod truly took off. With a synthed up sound and some of the most memorable videos of the era, the bearded band drag-raced up the charts with no-filler albums like Eliminator (1983) and Afterburner (1985), and sizzling singles like "Gimme All Your Lovin'" and "Legs."
After recording and touring throughout the '90s, ZZ Top are still tearing it up Texas-style. The fall 2003 release of Mescalero, their 15th album, coincides with the arrival of this long-awaited boxed tribute to the biggest "LittBand" in the land.
