Gravy Train de Lancashire, em 1970, foram formados pelo guitarrista / vocalista Norman Barrett. Eles conseguiram obter um contrato com a famosa Vertigo rótulo. E sua primeira excursão acertadamente denominado "Gravy Train" bater na rua no início de 1971. Segundo álbum, por muitos críticos e seguidores aclamado como seu melhor, veio mais tarde naquele mesmo ano (dezembro 1971) intitulada: "Ballad of a Peaceful Man". Que também viu o fim da contractaul obrigações com Vertigo. No entanto Dawn registros deles assinado por mais 2 álbuns. "Second Birth" foram lançadas em 1973 e "Staircase to the Day" 1974. Depois que ninguém ouviu deles ... boato tem ele, que viu a luz em Barrett música cristã e, aparentemente, ele estava envolvido no projeto MANDALABAND (ver noutro local ProgArchives). O meu álbum por Gravy Train é "Staircase to the Day", apesar de muitos, como mencionado, juram a "Ballad to a Peaceful Man".Musicalmente eles são uma espécie de mistura de boa sólidos UK prog / rock / folk (muito de tocar flauta maravilhosa.)
